Lourdes is a journalist and holds a BS degree in Communications. She worked in several newspapers and PR firms in Lima, Peru. Because of her work in politics and social issues she has always been involved in philanthropic causes. After moving to the USA, she has published as a freelance writer for the newspaper Ahora Si! and also worked as a Hotel Management Consultant.
Lourdes started to volunteer at a young age and in Austin, she has served as a Board Member for local non-profits and organizations including Seton Hospitals where she was Editor in Chief of Brackenridge newsletter and People’s Community Clinic where she served as Vice Chair.
Lourdes is an award winning leader recognized by Excellence & Advancement Foundation with the Equity warrior award in the Non profit & Philanthropy category and by HABLA finalist in the community leader category. Currently, Lourdes serves as the Public Policy Chair for One Voice of Central Texas and she is an active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP). When not writing she spends her free time traveling and dining out. and a Leadership Austin alumni.
