Gary L. Cunningham is a dynamic executive with a strong history of innovation, outstanding performance, creative and transformational leadership. Gary has received recognition for his
achievements in the areas of racial justice, housing, economic development, healthcare, and philanthropy. In August 2019, Gary joined Prosperity Now as President and CEO. Prosperity Now is the premier national intermediary working to ensure that everyone in the United States, especially people of color and low-income families, have a clear path to financial stability, wealth and prosperity. Before joining Prosperity Now, Gary served as: President and chief executive officer - Metropolitan Economic Development Association; vice president and chief program officer, Northwest Area Foundation; president and chief executive officer - NorthPoint Health & Wellness Center just to name a few.

William Buster, MA, is Executive Vice President of Community Investments at St. David’s Foundation.s. He provides oversight for St. David’s Foundation’s grantmaking programs, and is responsible for leading the design, development, delivery and evaluation of the Foundation’s grantmaking strategies and policies.  William’s work included several positions within two foundations (W.K. Kellogg Foundation and the Mary Reynolds Babcock Foundation) and his own consultancy, Common-Unity Philanthropic Advisors. During his time at the W. K. Kellogg Foundation he served as the Advisor to the President of the W. K. Kellogg Foundation on Young Men and Boys of Color as well as the Director of Mississippi and New Orleans Programs. William has received several accolades. Among them was being honored to work closely with the White House in the development of the My Brother’s Keeper Initiative.



The Financial Capability summit will bring leaders and stakeholders from different sectors together to discuss solutions for improving financial capability in the Texas community. The event will encourage participants to collaborate in creating initiatives that will bridge the financial literacy gap by empowering service providers to support economic development in low-income populations
